2020 年、東京でホームレスの女性が女性嫌悪者に殺害され、多くの女性たちの怒りが噴出した。ノンバイナリーである私は、 自らの身体における「女性」のアイデンティティの複雑さを生きている。この痛ましい出来事に加え、日本のヨガ業界が「女性」 に過度に焦点を当てている現状、そして「セーフスペース」とは何かという私の探究が重なり、破壊の女神カーリーに着想を得た怒り中心の新たなヨガ 「E-Kali Yoga」 を構想した。本プロジェクトは、仮設のヨガスタジオ兼展覧会として立ち上げられた。
In 2020, a homeless woman was murdered by a misogynist in Tokyo, igniting outrage among many women. As a non-binary person, I navigate the complexities of my feminine identity. This devastating event—together with the Japanese yoga industry’s fixation on women and my inquiry into what constitutes a “safe space”—led me to create a new, anger-centered yoga: E-Kali Yoga, inspired by the Indian goddess of destruction. The project took shape as a temporary yoga studio and exhibition.
